1:39 am

Well its been a while and to be honest I really have nothing better to do… so an update at 1:39 am it is.

Having last posted when the school year finished, I now find myself in the middle of summer having made the decision to take 2 summer courses. This is part of my ‘plan’ to finish my degree by April ‘09. In order for me to reach this goal, I unfortunately will have to take a full course load every semester from here on out, including at least 2 courses this summer and the next. So far for this summer I have finished one, and am half way through the second. The lack of a holiday is really starting to sink in and as of late I am really starting to feel the need to just veg out and do nothing. I guess ill get about 1.5 week of that once this course is over, but then its back to the normal school year. It really feels like my life is in limbo and i just want to get this chapter (my undergrad) over and done with. *sigh*

It seems that my procrastination skills are still the same as before. Rather than researching for an essay due in a week, I find myself wasting time just surfing on the internet and generally doing anything but what i should be. God i really hate courses in the summer. I guess i should be thankful that I still have it better than some other folks who are taking 2-3 courses per half-summer semester.

Looks like it is now 1:48 am and if i am to get up in time to run some errands before i get to class tomorrow i should get to sleep.

Oh well…

To those of you who read this and have their own blogs… gimme something to read and update them please. :P

AIMEE: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Mass Exodus

Sitting at my desk with some Stairway to Heaven to assist in my quiet contemplation drown out my sorrows. I should be ecstatic that I have finally finished the long and grueling exam period. I’m not! Instead I find myself sitting here and wondering what the hell the answer was to half the questions on the law exam. *sigh* I know you are not supposed to beat yourself over the head until you get the results or until you know for sure that you messed up but i just can’t help it.

I guess I have a little break to look forward to before I get back to classes on the 14th. Yes, thats right, I am taking 2 summer courses. Why? Well, hmm lets see… this is my 4th year of university and I still have at least another 2 to go before i finish my degree. I am kinda getting a little tired of watching/hearing all my friends graduate. Yes, I am a little envious. Don’t get me wrong, I love school but i would just rather be back here doing a Masters or equivalent thereof rather than still doing my undergrad.

This past week has turned both the campus and city into somewhat of a Ghost Town. Its always fun when you are trying to study and all you see is a steady stream of moving vans criss-cross the campus and surrounding areas. Only thing that pisses me off more is when you are trying to study in the library and other quiet areas and all you hear are the inconsiderate pricks and bimbos who have just completed their exams come strolling through with a late in hand, talking at the upper decibel range within the human sound range and acting as if nothing else exists around them. HEY JIMBOB McSTUPID, I AM STUDYING HERE, GO THE FUCK OUTSIDE THEN TALK YELL ABOUT TONIGHT WHEN YOU PLAN TO GET SMASHED, SMOKE A BOWL, DATE RAPE/IMPREGNATE YOUR BIMBO GIRLFRIEND AND HER TWO CLOSEST FRIENDS AND END THE NIGHT SNORTING COKE OF A STRIPPERS ASS. leave me the fuck alone when i am studying in a place thats supposed to be SILENT!

To apologize for my above rant, i offer you PopTart Kitty.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program…

The good thing about this summer is that I will have some time to get back to a few old hobbies and a few new ones. For instance, i am taking a once-a-week night class at the local college on Photography. I realized that I now have this DSLR that i really don’t know how to use as well as i would like and that there was a fairly cheap course being offered, so why not? I will also be getting a new bike in the next few weeks and am looking forward to getting back into cycling and hitting the extensive trail routes here in London. Going along with this theme, I think it is high time that get into shape. Yes, its been said before with a lack of results so i can only guess what you are thinking: “Heh… yeah right?!”. Well this time is a little different; I have a friend joining me. As all of you gym buffs know, having a partner to go with keeps you motivated. I plan on going swimming at least 3-4 times a week since i have the facilities available to me here, and it is after all included in my tuition, so i might as well. I am trying to focus on cardio and losing weight but I will also be hitting the weight room if possible. I admit that part of my problem is that I always feel intimidated walking into a gym and seeing people who look like ‘chiseled Greek god[s]’* To help with this and to make things a bit more convenient, i plan on picking up a good workout mat, and some minimal equipment which i can work into my daily routine.

*(yes, I took that from the MC Abdominal - bonus if you can tell which song)

Spring?

Wow, first time in over a month that we have have above freezing temperatures and i am happy to report that it is a balmy 2 degrees in Canada’s forest city.

I found it to be quite enjoyable walking to and from class sans toque and gloves. It seems that i am not the only one celebrating as there were numerous birds, squirrels and other local wildlife out and about. I even stopped for a few minutes on my way home to take a breather and listen to the birds singing. This coupled with the melting of the snow from the last few weeks is making it feel like spring is near. Sadly, the weather man is telling me otherwise and that this cheery feeling is not one that will be with us much longer than another 12 hours.

I must admit that it is times like these that i miss Vancouver, since it was a common thing to come upon wildlife and to be able to take in the beauty that nature has to offer. Being stuck in the concrete wasteland that is Toronto for all of last year, really makes you appreciate it even more because you experience something beautiful, have it taken away, and then are able to get some of it back little by little. While London is no Vancouver when it comes to scenery and beauty, it is definitely and improvement over the big T.O. I can’t wait for spring and summer when i will have the time to get out and explore the city, trails and parks and hopefully take my D70 along for the ride.

Anyways, that seems to be enough reminiscing and procrastination for me. Time to get back to work and make some dinner before my night class.

To all you Vancouverites: ENJOY WHAT YOU HAVE! :( i miss it.

The Danes are at it again!

Hmm, what can one say about this… I guess its every male heterosexual motorist’s dream come true.

Speed Bandits
Something tells me that if we were to implement this in Toronto, speeding would go down but there would be HUGE traffic delays and gridlock would be worse. Can the CVP actually get any worse during rush hour than it already is?

For once i feel safe and happy to be living in a society of prudes.

Discoveries.

Well its the beginning of 2007 and I have recently been doing some soul searching and making an attempt to discover more about myself.

After some reflection I have come to conclusion that we never truly know ourselves. This seems fairly obvious when you sit down and remember that we are constantly growing older, having new experiences, learning more about the world and its many cultures, constantly seeking to improve our education, and expanding our fields of knowledge.

For myself, I can say that I’ve discovered many new small things about myself and it is interesting that these changes add up to a different person than I was at the beginning of 2006.

Some of my minor discoveries:

- I like liquid DrumnBass

- I enjoy photography

- I tend to put my foot in my mouth 9/10 times when I am interested in a woman

- Tact: Not everyone has it (Shut up Noah)

- My friends are a very important part of my life and i cherish them like i do my family

- I can actually enjoy the courses that i am taking AND do well in them

- I actually feel better and am taken more seriously with my family when I am assertive and don’t give into their demands because I am trying to be a ‘good boy’

Changes I hope to make for 2007:

- Be more social, get out more, enjoy life rather than just letting it pass me by

- Reconnect with my extended family around the globe

- Get my class readings done ahead of time

- Start prepping for exams at least 2 weeks before the end of classes

- Get in shape (this is going to be a hard one since i have put it down the last 2 years and have not followed through)

- Stop being Mr. Nice Guy and yet don’t go back to being quite as big of an asshole as i used to be

- Go exploring

- Go on some road trips/vacations with friends

OK, i think thats a good start for now. How about you guys?

2007 and we are off to a weird start!

For those of you who have been living under a rock and haven’t noticed (or just those of you who don’t live in Southern Ontario), where is all the snow???

Its January 8th and for the past week we have had nothing but positive temperatures with some days being as high as a balmy 13 degrees. Where is my winter :( As someone who has lived in Canada for all of his life, I am used to having my 4 seasons. I feel as if i have walked into McDonald’s and ordered a Happy Meal and someone forgot to give my my toy >:|  This will not do! I want my winter and i want it to be cold and full of snow. Cause I AM CANADIAN! (maybe that was going a little far). At the very least i would like to have the opportunity to enjoy the occasional snowball fight on campus but for now it seems that i will have to settle for mud slinging.

Continuing on the topic of weather… just how much rain is B.C. gonna get till the whole lower mainland is completely submerged? Seems like the next time i visit Vancouver i will need a canoe and some water waders. The experts are either arguing that all of this wacky weather is due to global warming or that the Earth is going through one of its many climate cycles. I don’t know which one is correct but all I want is my winter back. Come back Jack Frost, we miss you and bring your friend Old Man Winter.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone!

Hope you all have a great 2007.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hello from NY.

Just thought i would take this opportunity to hop on the net and with you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

In other news, RIP James Brown :(

Heading home.

Well after a long three months of classes, i am finally heading home for some time with the family. Before i can jump on the bus I’ve got to finish cleaning up the house and packing my bags. Oh well, just a couple more hours and i will be back in Toronto. Happy Holidays everyone!
